Nope, but I do know that McKindless have registered a route and timetable change on the 62 from 14th November details below. So it could be the same route change as First Glasgow made in September. PM0003020/14 MCKINDLESS BUS CO LTD, NUNEATON ST GLASGOW G40 3JT Operating between Faifley and Glasgow Cross given service number 62 effective from 14-Nov-2009. To amend Route and Timetable.

I dont know Ballieston too well but I know some evening 62's from Faifley run as normal into Glasgow city centre and then become 262's and run to Airdrie and on the way back from Airdrie display 262 to Ballieston and on arrival at Main Street change to a normal 62 to run onto Faifley, could this be what you saw?

 Re: 62
How long do you think the 62 will have to wait to see some new buses on it?
Its amazing how tired the B7RLE's are already starting to look, i mean they're pretty grubby.
The next order thats made for them should definetley be a load of double deckers ofcourse that was the plan with the Enviro 500's but the lack of adblue and tri-axle trying to get round baillieston stopped that from happening.

 Re: 62
In the past brand new buses that ended up at Parkhead always went on the 61,62 together and maybe this will happen again. Maybe 2010 may see new buses at Parkhead and we hope it will be B9TL Geminis. Not sure if the 40 will see brand new buses.

 Re: 62
I think the next order should be for a load of single deckers to be honest. The likes of the 62 and 66 both badly need upgrading. Some of those Scanias at Larkfield are in a right state.
Parkhead has had loads of new buses over the years for the likes of the 62. N/P reg low height VO's which are now Scotstoun school buses. Then the R/S reg Scanias. Y/51 reg B10m wrights, B7s and B7RLEs.
As for the 40 it used to always see good buses. When the 51 plate Eclipses were first delivered a load of them were branded for the 40 while the 62 had the similarly aged B10ms. Then it went bendy operated and now it's lucky to even see a bus as new as the 51 plate Eclipses, here in 2009.

and Still where are the Extra 100 buses coming from? for the Commenweath games in 2014
Double deckers should be on the cards for most things

 Re: 62
The 62 should have new bendis although perhaps fig will be reluctant to order them due to previous issues. The 66 needs new single deckers and the 2xx routes need either new singles or bendys. The 9 should be double decker operation only and the Lanarkshire-glasgow routes could do with upgrading as some of their scanias are also fucked (the x1, 267 etc)

 Re: 62
Been pretty surpirsed that the 62 all of a sudden has had alot more Gemenis put on it, what made this happen then?
Even though its still the 54 plates so we cant get too excited to be honest, if anything a step backwards with not only the 62 but alot of routes seeming to get older and older buses put on them.

With McKindless of the road, M.S has been out and about in Scotstoun checking loadings. Hence more Gemini's. To be fair some of the Gemini's are in better condition inside than the Eclipses. The passengers aren't really bothered about the difference between a 54 and a 55 plate bus. Just aslong as it gets them there.

Ahhhh right big M.S, think it will be a perminant thing then?
This will be the closest thing the 62 comes to getting new buses for what i can imagine will be an extremly long time.

 Re: 62
the 44 strikes me as the only route you are almost guarrenteed to get new buses. They need to think about upgrading the 66 and 62 . The 38 is ok apart from skanky vos and any scania .

 Re: 62
yeah the 75 . hardly any scanias now . Larkys decker fleet is pretty good maybe apart from the vts , its singles a little worse for wear.

This will be the closest thing the 62 comes to getting new buses for what i can imagine will be an extremly long time. Probably will be. He was going on about capacity and how he wants everyone bang on time to stop bunching up. The 62 used to be double deckers, then the Scania's came in. I think once it went single decker the frequency got increased and it one point it was a 5 minute service, during the height of the Overground days.

Thats up 2 him 2 get something done about the bunching up,as he can't blame the drivers for that.

 Re: 62
the 62 could quite easily use deckers every 8 mins, and for them easily to be full.

 Re: 62
At the moment the Parkhead routes from what ive seen are nothing if not random. Between the 62, 40, 41 and 61 you'll one minute see a gemeni B7TL then an Urban then a B7L then a plaxtion Trident or an ALX 400 or then an alexander Ps B10M. Standardised fleet indeed.
One thing i do wish a while back Blantyre handt been sent the Wright Renowns that use to run the 62 they were much better buses than the B7LS, instead the B7LS should have been sent to blantyre for the 240 and 201 etc.
Hopefully in a couple of years we'll see Adblue put in and new double decks starting to replace most of the parkhead fleet except for the 262 etc.
