What you saw is most likely SF54 ORO.

Yes it was, on the 71 I think going by the time I seen it, it will be SF54 ORO, it had a damaged LED front dest. (as it appears on Flickr with previous op) hence I didn't catch the number

Due to continuing on going problems there a very high the date of the changes will be pushed back beyond the 1st. It really would not be surprising if the 29 ends up being the date.

It seems that Blue Bus will be running the 402, 404, 405, 406 and 424. Three of them used to be run by Prentice Westwood.

And In new money

* 9: Livingston south.
* 24: St johns - juniper green

The Confusement has happened because Prentice lost all its work. Only the 5 and 24 have been awarded to Blue bus

* 5: Bathgate - West inch
* 24: St johns - juniper green

E&H has been awarded 9, whether anyone actually takes them is another question because there no logic to who won what and the disagreement about the bids have been going on for 3 weeks now, the head of transport was not even around.

There may be more than two then, I'm sure I saw four lined up a few weeks ago (maybe not though!), also the one I saw last Friday (SF54 ORO) had Blue Bus vinyls applied

News release

Get onboard for bus changes

Changes are taking place to West Lothian Council-funded bus service in West Lothian.

The council currently subsidises around 20% of the total bus network in West Lothian at a cost of about £2.2m per year.

As a result of a competitive tendering process to ensure the council is receiving best value for this investment, a new timetable will start for a number of routes from Monday, 1 October, 2012, with other routes following four weeks later on Monday, 29 October.

All of the revised services have been designed to be more cost effective whilst maintaining or enhancing services for the vast majority of users.

Key changes from 1 October include:
? Minor timetable changes, a new service number or a different bus operator for many services.
? Revised Livingston town services with a new service 3 offering frequent and direct connections between Livingston North, the Centre and Kirkton Campus and Simpson Parkway.
? Revised town services for Armadale, Bathgate and Linlithgow to provide improved connections to railway stations.

Other significant differences include:
? An enhanced Livingston - West Calder - Bathgate service, which will also run on Saturdays for the first time.
? Prevent duplication of services where alternatives are available, such as between South Queensferry and Winchburgh where the service 7 will be streamlined as the route is already served by service 651.
? Some very lightly-used services have been maintained by providing pre-booked Taxibus services rather than conventional bus service ensuring the costs of support are affordable.

A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: "We provide a range of bus services not provided by the free market, to support the needs of our communities to access services and employment, as well as reach family and friends.

"This competitive tendering process aims to ensure we get the best value for the public money we invest, allowing us to continue to provide essential bus services in the future.

"All of the main links between West Lothian towns have been maintained, and in some cases, enhanced. This exercise has been essential in order to keep services in place at an affordable subsidy level, and service performance will be monitored closely."

A number of services will remain unaltered except for a new number and operator. These include: service A1 which will become service 7 operated by Blue Bus; service 474 which will become service 23 operated by E&M Horsburgh; and service 450 which will become service 50 operated by E&M Horsburgh.

Timetables for the new services will shortly be available online via the council's website and at council Customer Information service (CIS) centres. Timetable information, bus stop information and journey planning will shortly be available via Traveline Scotland Tel. 0871 200 22 33 or look online at www.travelinescotland.com (new window)
